Science
My latest scientific work was implementing and evaluating a face detection, normalization and classification software build upon OpenCV. The output of this software is an XML-file that is used together with other modules to fully automatically generate a Hollywood-style action movie trailer. I dare to say the results are reasonably satisfying, considering we used OpenSource software and had a timeframe of one year only. But have a look yourself at SVP.
I finished my Master Thesis: "Game Over? - Commodification of MMORPGs". I terribly enjoyed writing this thesis and kind of hoped for some appreciation from all those inspiring people who are involved in MMORPG research like Richard Bartle, Julian Dibbell, Edward Castronova, Dan Hunter and Greg Lastowka, and many more, but well, maybe this is a little too much expected :). Still hoping for the Nobel Prize, though!
